Happy Monday, Dolls!

How was the weekend? Mine was restful and productive. No complaints here!

Anyhoo, yesterday I took a moment to give my skin a little TLC by giving myself a mini-facial. I first learned about mini-facials from Kitiya of Mischo Beauty, who is a licensed esthetician, cosmetologist and makeup artist. They are essentially weekly maintenance for your skin in between monthly professional facials that I’ve been slacking on LOL. You can read her post here.

Today, I’m going to walk you guys through my take on the mini-facial. It’s a little bootleg (LOL) because I ran out of my serum and toner (doh!) but the basic steps are here. Also, don’t mind my unkempt brows (going to Thread this week!) :)

So, without further ado…

Ohhh, Home Spa Initiative, how I love thee! Weekly skin treatments are not only fun, but pretty great for your skin!

PhotobucketThis week’s mini-facial is courtesy of Alba Botanica’s Hawaiian Papaya Enzyme Facial Mask ($13). Not only is this mask super affordable and long-lasting – it really works! The marquee ingredients are papaya and pineapple enzymes which both work to get rid of old skin cells, so that your yummy healthy skin can shine through.

Here’s a random pic of me with the mask on:

Be ready for some skin tingling with this mask while the enzymes are hard at work. As always, be sure to keep it away from your eyes! This product earns eco-friendly points by not testing on animals and being 100% vegetarian. You’ve got not excuse not to check it out!

Let me know how it goes!

Stay Beautiful

Disclaimer: I bought this bad boy myself!

This smells so good I wanna eat it! It brightens my skin really well, too.

Juice Beauty’s Green Apple Peel Full Strength ($45) was my first foray into the world of the exfoliating treatment mask and I’m happy to report smoother, brighter and more supple skin as a result.

As part of my Home Spa Initiative, I bought this at Sephora to use in my weekly mini-facial routine (detailed post in the pipeline!) After cleansing and toning, I paint a layer of this treatment onto my face and neck using an inexpensive concealer brush and leave it on for 15 minutes…

Earlier this year, a little birdie told me that the NYC Estee Lauder Company Store (hello, discount!) was in the very same building as my office (yes, I do still have a day job…)

Sooo…

Yay, E.L.F.!

I’m happy to report that I’ve been having a great experience with their Professional Foundation Brush!

I ordered this brush along with a few others during the E.L.F. frenzy and it cost only a dollar, which you really can’t beat.

Funny enough, I don’t own any liquid foundation at all nor do I have any tinted moisturizer (the other suggested use for this brush)…

Self-Heating Mask by Bioré

It always feels sooo good to pamper myself.

Even little things like getting my nails done or taking the extra time to try a new mascara or eyeshadow make me feel fab! Needless to say, Bioré’s Self-Heating Mask is right up my alley.

This mask is quick, easy and leaves my skin feeling smooth. Right out of the packet, the clay is a pale sea foam green with little dark blue exfoliating nuggets…
