Winter and I go together like oil and water, we just don’t mesh well.

I get the super sads when cold weather approaches and all I do is long for spring. Not only do the winter months make me depressed but it also does the unthinkable; it turns my sexy, dark tan into a pale and sickly hue of blah.

Enter Murad Bronzing Boost with SPF 15 ($38), an oil free bronzing formula that instantly brightens and darkens (and oxymoron I know :-) ) your skin into sun goddess status. You might not have control of the seasons but you can still have your bronze-y sun kissed skin.

Absolute Bronzing Boost boasts that it can be layered so you can control how sun-kissed you want your face to be. When I first wore this product I swear I got a few head turns at work and I must say myself the glowy dew Bronzing Boost creates on my face suits me better than pasty pale skin.

I applied it with my fingers and it blends incredibly well.  For you beauties who are already nostalgic for warmer weather don’t fret because this bottle of bronzer will help you hold on to summer skin all year long. Absolute Bronzing Boost is available at Sephora or murad.com.

The first time I used Sonia Kashuk’s Large Powder Brush was at Ugochi’s house while getting ready for an event and it’s been on my wish list ever since.

I finally came around to purchasing it the other day and I was glad I did because I was lacking a proper powder brush. Quality brushes can make all the difference with makeup application and this one never seems to fail.

This large powder brush is super soft, picks up product perfectly and applies powder to you face with ease. The sleek and ergonomic design fits your hand which also helps with application.

This brush looks professional and stands up to any other pro brushes you may have in your collection. The price isn’t bad either ($19.99) considering other companies sell makeup brushes that retail for way more.

Sonia Kashuk products are sold at one of my favorite stores, Target! While you’re there check out other products from her line — I know I will.

What’s your fave Sonia Kashuk product?

So, this is still one of my proudest moments of the year. Almost 6 months later, I am STILL happily organized in all of my makeup pursuits. Check out this vintage post to read more about how I got there…

Howdy, Beauty Pies!

Today I have a special treat! Because you guys are so awesome, I’m going to give you a peek at my makeup organization skills.

Um, right.

Now, this may look like a disaster to you (and it pretty much is) but I know where everything is (sort of). I just never seem to have the time (or motivation) to get it all sorted out…

Avon holds a special place in my heart.

It’s mainly because I was an Avon representative when I was 16. It was a lucrative career for someone that age and I even had loyal customers…

This article gives a GREAT primer on how to determine your skin undertone (Warm vs. Cool anyone?) which I always kind of struggled with. That’s my fave part of the article.

It also recommends a number of pretty fall lip trends and recommends colors for fair, medium and deep skin tones…

On a recent trip to Shop Rite for BBQ items, I was pleasantly surprised by the remodeling of the store.

I took a detour and stumbled on the beauty aisle (I swear it was calling my name!) and came across Black Radiance Artisan Color Baked Blush ($5).

Now I need blush like I need a hole in the head but I was swayed by the “NEW!/Nouveau!” decal in the left corner and figured I had to have it. I chose the color Warm Berry, it’s so bright and looks like the perfect color that can carry me into the fall/winter…

It’s amazing how many brushes we use for our makeup. There are two to three different shapes just for crease brushes alone.

For all the brushes we have (and spend our hard earned dollars on!) it’s a must we take care of them. The last brush cleaner I had did the job but it ran out and I replaced it with Siege Daily Cosmetic Brush Cleaner ($6).

What a difference…

Lipsticks are a huge deal to me.

Currently, I have 16 lippies in the makeup bag I carry in my purse (hey, you never know!) As much of a lipstick connoisseur I think I am, I’ve had a hard time finding the right shade and texture for me.

It seems like searching for lip color is like the story of “Goldilocks and the Three Bears.” I’ve tried expensive and inexpensive brands, but I could never find that lippie that was just right…

I don’t know about you Beauties, but I have a major problem with my makeup doing a disappearing act by midday. What’s the point of spending your time and using your makeup skills if they will be wasted due to daily activities, oily skin, or even worse, the weather? Humidity anyone? As if?!
