Now, keep in mind that in some cases you will need to refer to a textbook that is part of the course materials (try the library!) and online students don’t have access to the professors. Also, none of these classes will get you a degree at any of these schools. But they will grant you an expanded horizon which we assure you is always worth it.

With all the beauty products to choose from it’s easy to lose sight of the basics.

One product I use more than anything else and cannot live without is none other than…Chapstick!

When I was younger I used to wear makeup for my ballet recitals (definitely where my passion for beauty came from!) but nothing stands out more in my childhood makeup memories than my tiny wand of cherry Chapstick. I loved it so much I think I even used to eat it… Since then lip moisturizers have matured (and so have I) and come in all types of flavors and usages.

Blistex has whipped up Fruit Smoothies Lip Protectant and they taste as yummy as they sound. The balms come in a pack of three, Berry Explosion, Triple Tropical and Melon Melody. These creamy “smoothies” give the old school cherry flavor a run for the money. Not only do these balms feel silky smooth when applied they also have SPF 15 to protect your most sensitive skin from the effects of the sun.

Kissable soft lips and sun protection factor, what more could your lips ask for?! I have one on my nightstand, another in my purse and another that comes with me to the beach. I also use these “smoothies’ under lipstick, especially ones that are more matte. The balm combats over-drying under lipstick and gives matte colors a softer finish.

You can pick up Fruit Smoothies at most drugstores for $3.99 – not bad for a beauty basic.

Dearest readers…I’ll be blogging from Cape Town, South Africa for the next few weeks. I’m here for a fantabulous study abroad program examining community health from a public health perspective. So, don’t fret if I update a wee bit less frequently.
