My “vanity” is not really a vanity at all. It’s a window ledge where I do my makeup. It’s also where most of the natural light comes into our apartment.

One day I will move into my loft apartment with floor to ceiling windows and tons of natural light. . .but that’s another story!

When the sun is shining, my makeshift vanity area and small mirror are good enough for me. But, when it’s cloudy or dark, applying makeup can be a complete pain. I can barely see a thing!

The first time I used Sonia Kashuk’s Large Powder Brush was at Ugochi’s house while getting ready for an event and it’s been on my wish list ever since.

I finally came around to purchasing it the other day and I was glad I did because I was lacking a proper powder brush. Quality brushes can make all the difference with makeup application and this one never seems to fail.

This large powder brush is super soft, picks up product perfectly and applies powder to you face with ease. The sleek and ergonomic design fits your hand which also helps with application.

This brush looks professional and stands up to any other pro brushes you may have in your collection. The price isn’t bad either ($19.99) considering other companies sell makeup brushes that retail for way more.

Sonia Kashuk products are sold at one of my favorite stores, Target! While you’re there check out other products from her line — I know I will.

What’s your fave Sonia Kashuk product?

It’s amazing how many brushes we use for our makeup. There are two to three different shapes just for crease brushes alone.

For all the brushes we have (and spend our hard earned dollars on!) it’s a must we take care of them. The last brush cleaner I had did the job but it ran out and I replaced it with Siege Daily Cosmetic Brush Cleaner ($6).

What a difference…

Stay Beautiful

by Stephanee Stubblefield

I must confess, I’m a YouTube fanatic.

I study and practice makeup techniques from different YouTube channels, and when my boyfriend asked me what I wanted for my birthday recently I quickly replied, makeup brushes!

I have limited knowledge the makeup tools needed to achieve a professional look, so I reached out to a sales rep at Sephora. She asked me my price range (not too cheap but not too expensive) and quickly shuffled me over to the Sephora I.T. brand of brushes…

Video: 5 Must Have Beauty Tools

TV Time!

Check out this vid from Sandy Gold‘s appearance on the Steven & Chris Show about the 5 Must Have Beauty Tools. Fun Stuff!

Enjoy…

Yay, E.L.F.!

I’m happy to report that I’ve been having a great experience with their Professional Foundation Brush!

I ordered this brush along with a few others during the E.L.F. frenzy and it cost only a dollar, which you really can’t beat.

Funny enough, I don’t own any liquid foundation at all nor do I have any tinted moisturizer (the other suggested use for this brush)…

Brush Holder Idea

What a cool idea!

Check out this short video from PurseBuzz.com on a fun (and sanitary) new way to store your makeup brushes.

And, just say no to “Toilet Mist!”

Lol, just watch the video to see what I’m talking about…

Crease Brush (#15) by Smashbox

Thank goodness for gift certificates!

I had been eyeing the Smashbox #15 brush for a few weeks. I definitely spent way too much time visiting it at Sephora and testing it out on the back of my hand :) It’s so soft and fluffy and it works really well!

I like to use it for blending around (you guessed it) the crease, but also all around the eye area…
