Shiny, yummy, minty and fun!

C.O. Bigelow’s Ultra Mentha Lip Shines have been a pleasant addition to my lip gloss family.

I decided to give them a shot one day after spending yet another lunch break playing around in the beauty emporium that is now Bath & Body Works. There was a quantity discount on these guys, so I bought both Peppermint and Spearmint at the same time all for 10 bucks!

Yes, I bought this product even though I’d already bought (and didn’t like) Smith’s Rosebud Salve, which is made by the same company. I figured what’s 7 dollars on top of what I’ve already got in my cart…

I finally gave in and bought Smith’s Rosebud Salve a few months ago.

I’d read countless rave reviews in magazines and decided it was time to see what all the fuss was about. Plus, the tin it comes in has a cool, vintage-y feel to it, which I really liked.

It was an impulse purchase that I added to my basket on trip # 1,094,293 to Sephora. Of course I was buying more products that I probably don’t really need, but that’s another story…

I used to be really afraid of Blistex.

For some reason, it always screamed ‘cold sore victim’ to me and cold sores really gross me out. Thank goodness I don’t suffer from those little guys and thank goodness I finally gave Blistex Lip Medex a try a few years ago.

This product is well worth the $3 price tag. In fact, you should go buy some now, if you don’t have some already …

Soothing Lip Balm by Victoria’s Secret Beauty Rush is hands-down my favorite lip gloss (and I have tried just about every gloss under the sun).

I’ve been addicted ever since a good friend of mine included it as part of a birthday gift three years ago. Back then, it was called Balmy Nights and was marketed as a night-time lip treatment to refresh, revive and moisturize the lips. About a year ago, VS changed the name to Beauty Rush and began to market it as a Soothing Lip Balm. They also raised the price from $5.50 to $7.00.
