Hey Beauties,

I’ve been getting a lot of questions lately on how to take care of facial skin, so I decided to write a post about it.

I admit, the skin care and beauty worlds can be very confusing! Between all the products and tools and claims, it’s easy to lose sight of the basics of healthy skin. Of course, it is important to find the right products for your skin type and for any specific skin care concerns you might have, such as acne. Now without further ado, here are the basic skin care tips of my routine…

Hey Beauties!

Here’s a re-post of my fav Beauty Tidbit of them all. I think it’s because this is the first tidbit I ever tried back when I was a pre-teen!

Enjoy!

Every time I remember to exfoliate my lips, I really wonder how I could have ever forgotten. This tidbit gets them so smooth, I almost wish I could kiss myself… ;)

You probably already have the tools you’ll need for your grand lip renewal, and if not, they are super cheap so you can easily go grab them…

image007Ahhh, the joys of getting a pedicure…

At home?!

Yes, yes – I admit— I hate doing my nails myself and I hate doing my nails at home. There’s just something about the salon (or spa!) experience and expertise that I just adore.

However…

I recently became a grad student and that whole “not having an income” thing is vaguely starting to concern me. So, while I don’t feel particularly “recessed” (get it…recession, recessed…) I have been trying to do little things here and there to save $ and resemble a frugal individual…

Summer is around the corner, but aren’t the holidays are such a fun time?

For some reason most of my gifts tend to be beauty related (I wonder why, lol). Needless to say, I was super excited when I received Bliss’ Carrot + Sesame Body Buff set for x-mas (thanks Nana-lita)!

I wouldn’t go so far as to say that Apricot Scrub saved my life, but during my first weeks as a mother, sometimes it felt that way. When we came home from the hospital, I found myself suddenly clinging to parts of my beauty routine that had never seemed all that important before namely flossing and washing my face with Apricot Scrub. They’re pretty similar when you think about it: intense, thorough and a little painful, like tough love or a deep muscle massage. I guess digging into my gums and pores felt like I was weeding all the yuckiness out of my Cesarean experience so I could enjoy my baby and reclaim my body from the surgeon.

I must admit, I was pretty excited to try out the Aromatherapy Distillations Revitalizing Skin Polishing Ritual by Crabtree & Evelyn. I immediately thought about the mini spa treatments I’d give myself with it on a regular basis. Ahh…

Finally an exfoliator that is not too harsh, not too soft, but just right!

Many of you with sensitive skin like mine have struggled to find a product that effectively polishes your skin without leaving it badly irritated. Well, here it is!

I discovered Cosmedicine’s Self-Adjusting Exfoliator on a yet another lunchtime trip to the Sephora several blocks from my job. The great thing about this exfoliator is that it contains crystals that adjust to target areas needing more attention. The exfoliants also dissolve as you gently massage your face and neck, so you can never overdo it.

After several really bad experiences with exfoliants in the past, I was really hesitant about this one, but…
