Hey Beauty Pies!
Here’s a repost of one of my favorite Beauty Tidbits. All of my public transportation users, take heed!
Enjoy.

Ever get kind of grossed out when you’re on the go and need to reapply a lip balm that comes in a tub?
Your lips are parched, but then you think of allllll the places your little fingers have been throughout the day (gripping a subway pole, touching that sketchy doorknob, shaking hands with the client who may not have washed his hands after going to the loo, etc…)
Ok, that was gross. Lol, but you get the picture…
Well, I do think of these things at times, which is why I sometimes apply my beloved Balmy Nights (I’ll never stop calling it that!) or Blistex with my knuckle instead of my finger tip.

I have absolutely no scientific finding to link here (in fact, I had to take a pic of my own finger for today’s visual of what I am talking about – that’s BJ in the background, by the way!) It just makes sense to me that my knuckle comes into much less direct contact with general crap that I don’t want on my lips, than my hands and palms would…
It can be a bit awkward, but in the least it gives me peace of mind…
Ah well, let me know if I am the only person who actually does this!
Until tomorrow…

Hey Beauties!
Here’s a re-post of my fav Beauty Tidbit of them all. I think it’s because this is the first tidbit I ever tried back when I was a pre-teen!
Enjoy!

Every time I remember to exfoliate my lips, I really wonder how I could have ever forgotten. This tidbit gets them so smooth, I almost wish I could kiss myself…
You probably already have the tools you’ll need for your grand lip renewal, and if not, they are super cheap so you can easily go grab them…

I like this Beauty Tidbit so much and I think it’s so helpful that I am re-posting!
How many of you Beauties remember to apply facial care products to both your face and neck?
I know it’s oh-so-easy to forget our neck and décolleté areas, but work on making it a habit!
Our necks need love, too, so as to avoid the sharp contrast in skin health from chin to nape. So, make sure to cleanse, exfoliate and moisturize your neck just as you do your face…your neck will thank you for it : )
Stay Beautiful
p.s. – Did you remember your neck in your skincare routine today?
p.p.s. – Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Beauty companies are notorious for killing products because of lagging sales or to make room for new trends and technology, but you’re not totally out of luck. There’s a chance that your hard-to-find favorite is just a phone call or a click away.
ShopSmart, from the publisher of Consumer Reports, has the steps to follow next time your favorite beauty product is whisked off the market.
The first place to go to track down a much-missed favorite is the manufacturer:
1. Call the makeup brand’s customer-service department to ask about leftover inventory, upgraded formulas/names or comparable substitutes.

Ok, so we were a little skeptical when we heard about this latest tidbit, but now that we think about it, it makes perfect sense…

Well, dear readers, the groundhog saw his shadow last month, bit Mayor Bloomberg (lol!) and we in NYC recently had a huge snowstorm. Needless to say, it’s been quite cold and dry and our skin has been paying the price.

My hunt for the perfect, non-greasy, SPF 30 or better daily sunscreen continues!
I’ve said it a million times before, but protecting your skin from the sun is very important on a daily basis (not just at the beach!) Sunscreen helps protect you from skin cancer. Hopefully that’s motivation enough, but if it’s not, it also helps you look younger longer by blocking the sun’s skin damaging rays. And, yes you need to wear it every day. There are tons of affordable moisturizers with SPF that you can try, just shoot me an email if you’d like suggestions, I’d be happy to help! Ok, that’s it for my public service announcement, now onto the product at hand!
This stuff is really good. Like, really good.

Who knew?!
Not only do toilet set covers not offer any real protection for your bum bum, they work as super fab oil blotting sheets in a pinch!
I’d heard this tidbit while watching an awards show earlier this year (the Oscars, maybe?) during the red carpet commentary and have actually tried it out – it’s legit, guys!
So, anytime you’re on the go and your t-zone gets a little out of control, don’t forget that you’ve got a friend in your nearest public toilet stall! Happy blotting

Hmm…well, this product was not what I expected. Not that it was bad, I just expected something a little more than some gussied up petroleum jelly. Especially given all the rave reviews I’ve read about this stuff.
