On her diet: “For me, carbs are a treat now.” Campbell, 41, is vigilant about her beauty routine too: steams, facials—“everything I can to keep my skin elasticated.” She says plastic surgery is fine “for those who do it for themselves and not to please someone else,” but she isn’t fazed about getting older. “I don’t worry about a number, I’m fine with aging.”

On her past: “Look, you have to make mistakes. That’s how you learn and that’s how the world works,” she says. “I’ve made a few.” 

“What makes a person is the ability to look at themselves and deal with their own lives,” Campbell says. “How you deal [with your actions] is what defines you.”

While she’s made headlines for her antics and activism off the runway, Campbell, at her core, is still a supermodel. “But I would never call myself that,” she says, laughing. “I don’t have any superhuman powers.”

“I still love what I do,” she says. “It’s a new challenge to see how people can change your look. I like words like transformation, reinvention, and chameleon. Because one word I don’t like is predictable.”

Yellow diamonds seem to be all the rage this season with Rihanna singing about yellow diamonds in the sky (I wouldn’t mind having a yellow diamond on my finger!!!) and more importantly the Versace launch of their new fragrance, Yellow Diamond.

Not long ago, Versace invited us to the launch of their new fragrance Yellow Diamond at the Versace Boutique on 5th Ave. I was more than excited to be present in an exclusive area that Victoria Beckham and Donatella Versace herself frequent. How cool is that?!

It was a pleasure meeting Alessandra Giansanti, Executive Director of P.R. and marketing for EuroItaly who introduced us formally to the fragrance and broke down the scents that encompass Yellow Diamond.

This scent is meant to invoke a sunny day and does just that with notes of Diamante, orange blossom and amber wood. The aroma brings visions of summer days on a yacht with my Versace gown dripping in yellow diamonds (a girl can dream can’t she?!).

Versace brand might be too opulent for my salary, however with the launch of Versace for H&M and their fragrances anyone can indulge and have a taste of the lavish life.

If you can’t own yellow diamonds at least you can smell like you do.

Burt’s Bees invited Ugochi, Stephanee, and me to a holiday party earlier this month. It was truly a lovely experience. We were able to see the myriad of Burt’s Bees products in various rooms throughout a beautiful New York City loft.

Burt’s Bees has some exciting gift sets for the Holiday Season. They have combined some of their most popular products in adorable containers and bags…

For example, they have their popular beeswax lip balms in a keepsake tin and a manicure set with some of their nail and hand products in a cute yellow bag.

Another great thing that Burt’s Bees is doing is their Tacky Sweater Campaign. Burt’s Bees has partnered with One Warm Coat to help provide warm coats for those in need. I don’t know about you, but the last time I heard the name “Amway” it was in the late 80′s and one of our more eccentric neighbors would try to convince us to buy random household products bearing the Amway name.

Well, well, well…Amway’s beauty brand, Artistry, is not only one of the top 5 largest  selling beauty brands worldwide but a pretty extensive and high quality line.

If you keep an eye on my tweets, you’ll know that Artistry hosted a FAB blogger event for NY Fashion week.

Stephanee and I popped by in between shows and had a blast! Check out the pics below…

On pregnancy and motherhood: “It was important to me that I gave myself time to focus on becoming the woman I want to be, building my empire, my relationship, and my self-worth, before I became a mother,” she says. “Now God has blessed us with the ultimate.”

On her husband, Jay-Z: “We have been together since I was 20 years old. We took our time and developed an unbreakable friendship before we got married. I admire his ability to inspire others. To me, Jay represents the American dream. Jay’s music has helped define our generation. All that he has overcome and worked to achieve gives millions hope that they can become whatever they want to be. I respect him so much; he is a great man and a great artist.”

In a rare moment of candor about their relationship, she continues: “We focused three years on our marriage and found that it brought us an even stronger bond and connection. But like anything great and successful in your life, marriage takes hard work and sacrifice. It has to be something both you and your husband deeply want. The best thing about marriage is the amount of growth you have because you can no longer hide from your fears and insecurities. There’s someone right there calling you out on your flaws and building you up when you need the support. If you are with the right person, it brings out the best version of you.”

Beyoncé, like her hit single, is ready to run the world: “I am finally at the stage in my life where I am not so concerned with other people’s opinions about my life decisions,” she says. “It is so liberating to really know what I want, what truly makes me happy, what I will not tolerate. I have learned that it is no one else’s job to take care of me but me.”

On her current fashion inspirations: “I love Kate Moss. I think she has great style. And I always admire Victoria Beckham and Gisele [Bündchen]. Their style is modern but always classic.”

On the breakthrough moment she had while in Egypt (it inspired her son’s name too!)…
“It was a time of transition. There were certain people [I was working with] who weren’t right. I had friends who weren’t right anymore. I was tired and I had overworked myself and burnt myself out. So I went to Egypt by myself. When I saw what was built there, it made me understand how powerful we are, that we can create anything. And I felt like I needed to create things that were timeless too.”

On wanting to bring the Five project to life…
“We were intrigued by the challenge of creating short stories that would defy audiences’ expectation of the subject. We wanted to balance the drama with humor and irreverence because that’s what’s helped our friends who’ve faced this get through their treatment. We wanted stories that were informative without being heavy-handed. Oh, and they needed to be brilliantly written. Other than that, our goals were small. [Laughs.]”

Resulting from a collaboration between Conair and John Frieda, these new styling tools offer salon quality but at a reasonable price… Consisting of a blow dryer, flat iron and 3 curling irons (with differing barrel sizes), all the tools retail for less than $50.

They also utilize the power of ionic technology which works super-hard to combat the frizzies.

Other cool features of this line are:
