I’m usually a big fan of Essie polish, but was a little disappointed with this one.
Although, like with all the other Essie polishes that I’ve tried, this one stayed on well, I wasn’t a big fan of the color. Vermouth is a pale purple color that goes on okay at first glance, but looks a little dull after it dries. Applying a second coat somewhat helps to achieve a more saturated -looking color, but you really need a very shiny clear polish as a third coat to achieve the smooth shine that I generally am looking for in a polish…

Giving you everyday advice on life’s issues that your mama didn’t warn you about…
Dear Miss Dee,
I feel really ready to date and meet new people, but I just get so nervous sometimes. Can you give me some sure fire tips/signals to overcome my nerves and show that I am approachable in social situations? Sometimes, I resort to alcohol to get past the nerves, but I want to move away from that because it can go overboard.
Help!
-Nervous But Hopeful!
Dear Nervous But Hopeful,
Well first off – I’m glad to see that despite the challenges that you’ve faced with dating, you’re still HOPEFUL! You should be! Dating can be really fun and enjoyable, but it’s only what you make of it. And it definitely sounds like you’re ready to take it into a new direction, which is all you need to get started! So get out your paper and pen, start taking notes, and buckle up for the ride!

Giving you everyday advice on life’s issues that your mama didn’t warn you about…
——
Dear Miss Dee,
I’m an attractive female (or so I’ve been told) but I seem to have problems finding an available guy that I click with. Either I meet guys who don’t want a girlfriend, already have girlfriends or are Jewish (I’m not)…you get where I’m going with that one. Guys always ask why I’m single and say that there must be something wrong with me. I used to dispute that statement, now I’m starting to feel that there IS something wrong with me — what am I doing wrong?
—-Single and NOT loving it
Dear Single and NOT loving it,
Is there something wrong with you? Of course not. But are there some changes that you can make? YES! One of the big problems that I think a lot of us have is that we sit around expecting things to just happen…

Introducing Miss Dee, giving you everyday advice on life’s issues that your mama didn’t warn you about…
—–
Dear Miss Dee,
I was dating this guy who I really liked, but he sort of stopped talking to me and I found out he now has a girlfriend. However, we hang out in the same circles and every time I see him out he flirts as if we were still involved and I’m really torn. I still care for him, but I don’t want to be his plaything. Help!
–Torn & Tattered

Dear Torn & Tattered,
Well first off, you’re not alone. This is the familiar story that I’ve heard ohhhh so many times! Girl meets guy. Girl likes guy. Guy likes girl back BUT guy wants his cake and wants to EAT IT TOO! Unfortunately guys get young women wrapped up into these types of “between a rock and a hard place” emotional roller coasters far too often. This guy may have liked you at a time, but that time has passed…
