This week’s manicure features one of my FAVORITE nail shades.
Oddly enough, I have a thing for sheer, pale, but not-quite-clear shades. They get me every time!

I still HATE doing my nails myself, but here are the steps I followed + products used:
1. Base Coat – I recently purchased Essie’s Protein Base Coat ($4) and still liking it. It’s clear but adds a nice bit of strength to my nails.
2. Nail Polish (Allure by Essie) – A random selection in the nail salon that I fell in love with oh-so-long ago. This shade is a lovely sheer shade with a touch of opacity. It leaves me with a clean and finished look. Plus, it’s only 6 bucks!
3. Quick Dry Top Coat – The good folks at Bloomie Nails in midtown put me onto Duri Cosmetics Miracote Super Fast Dry Top Coat ($7) and I have not looked back. It dries in seconds and never gets gloppy or sticky. Waiting for my nails to dry used to be the bane of my existence — not anymore!
