Same questions + different person = The Beauty 3/6/5, an interesting peek into the lives and beauty personalities of our fantastic readers!
This week’s edition of The Beauty 3/6/5 features Cheryl from Rochester!
Cheryl is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York City. She is also a self-proclaimed foodie, loves manicures & hates cold weather.
So, without further ado…
3: PERSON
1. Describe yourself in 10 words or less.
Playful, Fun, Thoughtful, Intelligent, Creative, Driven, Imperfect.
2. Tell us about your personal philosophy.
“Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no trouble, noise, or hard work, it means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.”- Anonymous
Throughout the craziness of my day, it’s important to me to work on staying grounded. It’s not easy, but this quote is an important reminder of how it is possible to be calm and peaceful even in the middle of daily chaos.
3. “I am the most beautiful when…”
I feel rested! …And after I accomplish a restorative workout (biking, walking, cardio, weightlifting). Getting motivated to do this is quite the accomplishment in and of itself some days, so when I actually do it, I feel beautiful!
6: BEAUTY

1. Your earliest beauty memory?
Watching my mother apply her signature red lipstick while driving. She still does this!
2. Wackiest or most disastrous beauty moment?
Hmm, where do I begin? The horror of heavily Aqua Netted bangs, frosted pink lipstick & the bright blue eyeliner of my middle school years. Yikes!
3. The most foolish beauty advice you’ve been given?
Anything suggesting I be anything but myself for others.
4. Last product you used down to the last drop?
Fresh Brown Sugar Body Polish. Omg, it took me a long time to buy this thanks to it’s hefty price tag, but when I finally did, I loved how it made my skin feel-smooth and moisturized, even in the driest winter months. The smell is luscious. I’m an addict!
5. Who is your beauty icon and why?
I can’t just pick one. Jill Scott for her endless confidence, perseverance & willingness to show her vulnerabilities through her music. Also, Halle Berry who always has a natural beauty and ALWAYS flawless skin. Diane Von Furstenberg for her relaxed glamour. Tracee Elis Ross, all the way.
6. Celeb whose beauty style you most admire?
Hands down Tracee Elis Ross. I love her, I love her, I love her.
5: PRODUCTS ON YOUR VANITY RIGHT NOW
1. Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair - I swear by this amazing night serum. I’ve been using it since high school.
2. Boots No. 7 Quick-Thinking 4-in-1 Wipes - I love these. They leave my skin feeling clean, not sticky & they take off even the most stubborn mascara. They work so well that any guilt about using them in place of washing my face after a long day (or workout) is easily wiped away.
3. Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash - No tightness here, just smooth, glowing skin.
4. Clinque Black Honey Lip Duo – Easy for on the go and looks pulled together every time. The formula isn’t sticky like some other glosses and I think the rumors are true- that this color is flattering on everyone.
5. Satsuma Body Butter from The Body Shop - Special thanks to Ugochi for reintroducing me to this favorite of mine. It’s an instant mood enhancer and the small tub is purse size perfect!
Cheryl is also an aspiring jewelry designer. Stay tuned for her up and coming website! In the meanwhile, check out one of Cheryl’s many media appearances here!
