Mommy Beauty: LAVANILA Healthy Baby Collection

By Marina for Beauty 365

Hi guys!

Welcome to my first post in the Mommy Beauty series. I’m excited to share my adventures in motherhood with you. Being a mom is definitely the hardest job ever! I really love it though. Watching little Rebecca develop and discover the world makes it all worth it!

As a health-conscious mom, I work really hard to feed my baby healthy foods and use the safest products on her…That’s what drew me to testing out the LAVANILA Healthy Baby Collection ($14-20, Sephora stores). It’s advertised as “chemical-free, vitamin-enriched and infant-safe.” It has also been tested and approved by pediatricians, which is really important to me. Here’s a quick rundown of my impressions:

Smell: Awesome! Not that typical baby smell at all. I would describe it as a light citrus floral. I spent years working as a Fragrance Chemist at an major beauty brand, so I know my scents!

Healthy Baby Bottom – Diaper Rash Crème ($15): This was by far my favorite product in the collection. It applied so smoothly and kept my little girl rash-free in her delicate diaper area. My only complaints are the size and the price. At the rate we go thru diaper crème, this ran out too fast for me!

Healthy Baby Wash ($16) – This was a nice baby wash. It smells great and didn’t sting when I (accidentally!) got some in Rebecca’s eyes.

Healthy Baby Block SPF 40 ($20) – This sunscreen works great on my baby. It’s chemical free and blocks UVA/UVB rays. I had to wait until she was 6 months old to use it on her (as the packaging says) but, as you can see in the picture, we like it!

Healthy Baby Butter ($14) & Healthy Baby Lotion ($15) – I did like these both, but I found the Butter was a little too thick for my liking and the Lotion was a little too thin for my liking. Rebecca seemed happy with them both though (and the Mommy Massage that came with them!)

Overall Impression: I really loved the LaVanilla Healthy Baby Collection products. The formulas, the smells and the textures were all really great. Diaper Crème and Sunblock are the best of the bunch!
