You all know how much I heart Ouidad.
Really and truly, she makes THE BEST deep conditioner EVER. I love it so much, I wrote a review about it and the good folks at Ouidad.com even featured it on their site –go me! Although, the name of the conditioner has since changed a bit, everything else has pretty much remained the same.
Obviously, I was really excited to try this Curl Pioneer’s latest innovation, the Double Detangler, ($24) along with my beloved Deep Treatment. This tool is essentially a weighted, two-pronged comb designed to replicate the “Rake and Shake” styling technique used in Ouidad salons. The first comb is meant to begin detangling, while the second is meant to finish and prep hair to be washed, conditioned, cut or styled…

Now, my hair doesn’t lay flat in anyway. In fact, it grows straight up and out (check me out in the left sidebar – cheese!), sooo…while this tool detangled superbly, I’m not sure what else can be done when combining this tool and hair that coils like mine.
All in all, this is an interesting product, but if you’ve got hair that doesn’t quite lay flat like all the ladies in Ouidad’s YouTube videos, you’re better off sticking to your standard issue wide tooth comb for detangling and styling.
