Legendary La Mer.
I can’t even count the number of times I’ve read about one celebrity or another using this uber-pricey skin crème and gushing about how heavenly it is. Rumor even has it that J.Lo uses Crème de la Mer from head to toe…
This product contains a top secret Miracle Broth ™ and is “created through a 3-4 month bio-fermentation process,” as the packaging states. I’m not really sure what that means, but it sure ads to the mystique of this product. The main ingredients are seaweed, mineral oil, petrolatum and glycerin, so depending on how you feel about these guys, you may love or hate this stuff.
As for texture, this crème is THICK. Really, really, realllllly thick!
Much like Nivea Crème (which actually has a lot of the same ingredients and only costs about 4 bucks,) I found Crème de la Mer’s Moisturizing Cream really hard to rub into my skin. This crème also smells similarly to Nivea Crème, a smell I find to be on the stronger side.
Sadly, the handful of times I used it, both daytime and night, I got random pimples on my face. And I pretty much never get pimples. How disheartening! I think it was the seaweed or the mystery broth that did not agree with my randomly sensitive skin. Oh well. For some reason, I really wanted this “holy grail” product to live up to the hype!
Oh yes. The price. Well, it costs a bunch – 1 oz. is $130. But, isn’t it all worth it if you love it?!

I haven’t tried it out but have heard great things about it as well. I have used LaMers’ foundations which I love.

@ Melissa: Yep – this stuff gets amazing press, so i’m not surprised. now i want to try the foundations! La Mer has a body creme that comes in a tub, that is absolutely divine! my mom has some and i keep trying to swipe it from her to no avail
