Such a glorious Tendertone knockoff.
L’Oreal H.I.P.’s Jelly Balm is the latest item I’ve tried from this very impressive drugstore line. This line, as the name suggests, is high in pigments and also high in quality.
If you’re anything like me, all these new products and collections that MAC has been churning out these days has got your head spinning. So much so, that you may have missed the Tendertone re-launch last spring/summer. Well, fret not, dear Beauty. Jelly Balm is close enough!
Jelly Balm is a fun, potted gloss that provide a light kiss of color and a fair amount of shine. The formula is on the thicker and sticker side, so this will for sure stay put on your lips. But, steer clear if you prefer a thinner gloss formulation. Its fragrance is slightly reminiscent of vanilla and actually reminds me of a sexed-up Carmex scent, if you will.
I bought this balm in the Savory color which is a pale peachy/orange hue that complemented my skin tone oh-so-well. All you deep brown Beauties take note!
L’Oreal HIP products tend to go on “buy one get one free” promotion quite a bit, so keep an eye out at your local drugstore! In fact, they are on BOGO at Drugstore.com until May 8th.
The last thing I noted (and loved!) about this stuff is the packaging. Jelly Balm comes in a high quality glass pot that you can keep and use for a million other things — not exactly sure what those things are, but the packaging was so cute I just couldn’t throw it out!
