Superskin by Liz Earle Naturally Active Skincare

Howdy Beauties!

I recently had the opportunity to test out several products from the Superskin line by Liz Earle and I was pleasantly surprised.

It’s easy to get a bit jaded by all the products that consumers are bombarded with these days that promise you the world, but these products actually have merit. This brand is known for its gentle and natural ingredients, which is always a comfort. In all, I tried the Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, Instant Boost Skin Tonic, Superskin Moisturiser, Superskin Concentrate and Muslin Cloths. Phew, that was a mouthful :)

Moving right along, far and away, my favorite product was the Superskin Concentrate (pictured above). It’s a mixture of very light oils that applies like a serum and has a curious smell at first (kind of like straight vitamin E), but then after about 10 seconds it transforms into a soothing and energizing aroma that made my sensitive nose very happy. My face also felt really soft and supple when I used it after cleansing and toning, but before moisturizing. I would definitely buy another one of these once mine runs out. Thumbs up here!

Next up, we’ve got the Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser. This is a crème cleanser and super mild exfoliant all in one. The crème is white in color and has a slick but creamy consistency, so it goes on very easily. You massage the crème onto your dry skin and work it around for a bit on your face and neck as you would with any other cleanser and then comes the fun part (well, for me at least!) You wet a Muslin Cloth and use it to gently remove the cleanser. I’m a big fan of non-foaming facial cleansing – I just think it’s so neat – so of course I liked this stuff. Although you can get similar results with a washcloth, the Muslin Cloths were a nice touch. As for scent, I had trouble finding the right word(s) to use, but it’s surely not sweet or fruity. It’s more “leafy” or “botanical” – scientific terms, I know :) – but not bad at all.

The Instant Boost Skin Tonic is a pretty basic toner. It contains nothing harsh like menthol or alcohol, so it’ll just leave your skin refreshed and moist. It has aloe, vitamin E and ton of other good stuff. Plus, with a subtle floral-y sweetness, it smells nice.

Last but not least, there’s the Superskin Moisturiser a lovely moisturizer for mature or super dry skin. Two of the things I look for in any moisturizer are:

1. Does it blend in with my brown skin? There might be nothing worse than looking ghoulish, ashy and grey after moisturizing (eek!)

2. Does it apply smoothly? I’m soooo not a fan of super thick moisturizers that are hard to rub in.

And, I’m happy to report that this moisturizer meets both requirements! The only thing is that my skin is neither super dry nor mature, so it felt a little heavy on me for daytime. I think it works well as a night crème though.

All in all, the Superskin skin care regimen was a delight to try out and if I had to recommend one item, it would surely be the Superskin Concentrate. For everything you ever wanted to know about all of these products, click here .

Have you tried these products? If so, lemme know!
