I’m usually a big fan of Essie polish, but was a little disappointed with this one.
Although, like with all the other Essie polishes that I’ve tried, this one stayed on well, I wasn’t a big fan of the color. Vermouth is a pale purple color that goes on okay at first glance, but looks a little dull after it dries. Applying a second coat somewhat helps to achieve a more saturated -looking color, but you really need a very shiny clear polish as a third coat to achieve the smooth shine that I generally am looking for in a polish…
I tried this polish on my toes and felt that the dull purple just blended in with my brown skin and didn’t really do much to help my toes stand out – like I look for them to do especially during the summer months.
But, if you’re looking for a more toned down look, or perhaps for a new Fall color, this one might do it for you. At $8.00 a bottle on the EssieShop.com website, it’s not too expensive, but it is a little more than I would pay for something that doesnt “pop” a little more.
