Ahhhh, minty goodness.
Soothing Sensations Peppermint Shampoo is pretty good and pretty cheap.
I’d been seeing the Dark & Lovely Naturally collection for a while srunched in the “ethnic hair care” section at Target and the drugstore and such…
I’m always wary of product lines “specially formulated” for unrelaxed hair…for some reason the market is flooded with super expensive products that promise to do all sorts of great things to your hair but are generally mediocre and not worth the price…
Anyway, at $4 this shampoo was affordable enough for me to justify buying it. Plus, shampoos are such a basic and early step in the hair care routine, that you can play around with different ones because they are all the essentially the same.
The peppermint really made my scalp tingle (in a good way!) I definitely felt that my scalp was nice and refreshed after every time I used it. Plus, the benefits of the tea tree oil that’s also in this stuff is really great. It helps moisturize hair, unblocks clogged follicles and is a gentle anti-fungal – who knew!?
I’m not too keen on the smell of this shampoo. While it doesn’t have a scent that is strong enough to really stay with your hair, it just smells reeeeeeaallly minty and not at all sweet. And, I like sweet!
Well, that’s all folks! As usual, let me know if you tried this stuff out and what you thought!
