Yet another by-product of that Dior makeover at Macy’s last fall, I am delightfully impressed with Dior’s MaximEyes mascara.
When my “makeup artist” (yes, I meant to put that in quotes ‘cause she sucked!) instinctively reached for a tube of Dior Show, I quickly had to inform her that me and DiorShow aren’t friends .
Her next choice was MaximEyes, which is more of a lengthening and separating mascara. I was more than a bit skeptical, because I live for super-volumizing mascaras, but MaximEyes actually turned out pretty good
Even though it is marketed as an “extra dimension volume” mascara it really should be classified as a lengthener. It reminds me a bit of drugstore superstar CoverGirl Lash Exact , in how good it is for daytime. Ever since mine ran out, I’ve found myself reaching for this stuff on most weekday mornings as I head off to the office. MaximEyes provides length and definition but nothing over-the-top…
But (yep, there’s a “but”) the brush is kinda bulky, which stinks.
Anyhoo, my lashes, like the rest of my hair, are short and kinda scrabbly, so I tend to go for the gold (the more juicy over-the-top volume, the better!), but if you already have long lashes, this could be a great bet for you.
Yes, of course, it cost wayyyyy too much, but, in my (flimsy) defense, I got two free makeup bags and some random product samples with my purchases that day
So, take that!
I’ve been on a mascara fast since that DiorShow BlackOut purchase, so wish me luck!
