I debated lonnnnnng and hard in the aisles of Rite Aid before I made this purchase, Beauties. I really did…
My 99 cent sharpener (hot pink & plastic, baby!) from Sally Beauty Supply (circa early College years) had long since died. It was missing a piece from one of the many times I dropped it and it would eat up strange chunks of my pencils instead of sharpening them :-/
Once I finally decided to suck it up and buy a new sharpener, I was just dazzled by all the different ones sold by all the different brands. Most of them were 99 cents like Old Faithful, but they looked just as flimsy… Yes, I could’ve just bought a cheap one and replaced it when it broke, but I hate, hate, hate replacing things! I realllllly prefer buying a quality item and taking care of it properly…
Sooooo, after concluding my oh-so-important deliberations, I decided to take the plunge and spend the $3 on Revlon’s Universal Points Sharpener. And, yes, I’m quite glad I did
Now, now, now, before you get on me for spending 3 bucks on a pencil sharpener, just keep reading…
This sharpener’s blades are nice and sharp and it also has a handy cover that collects shavings until you’re ready to empty them out.
Also, the top cover protects the blade area, so that when (not, if!) I drop this thing, that area is protected and pieces around the blade won’t come off and obstruct my sharpening experience
The Universal Points Sharpener has two openings, but accommodates 3 pencil sizes. There’s a removable adapter ring in the bigger hole, which I haven’t actually used yet, but I’m sure is great
Needless to say, I’ve been sharpening happily ever since!
