The drugstore has become such a fun place to experiment with colors ever since L’Oreal’s H.I.P. (High Intensity Pigments) line came along!
This line does a really good job of getting the stronger pigments associated with higher end brands into an affordable package.
The very first Bright Shadow Duo I bought was Showy (#224), which is a fun pair of blues. On one side is a vibrant and punchy electric teal with a little shimmer (my personal fave) and on the other is a deep, matte navy blue…
I’m a huge fan of bright and fun evening makeup, so this duo was right up my alley. When I first wore it, (inspired by this pic of Kelis) I rimmed the teal all along my lower lash line and blended the navy along the outer edges – yum! Lots of mascara, eyeliner and a bit of black shadow blended out up top and voila! Makes me want to go play with makeup instead of focusing on the rest of this entry…
Anyhoo, this product could use some work on the quality of powder used for the shadow. It is a little hard to blend this stuff in, especially the matte navy color. My higher end stuff is definitely smoother and easier to apply. That’s the only real drawback I found – I guess something had to give since it’s only $7
The Shadow Duo’s container is cute and portable with a snap lid, so you can’t misplace the cap. It also comes with a mirror and two mini applicators, which is a nice touch.
And, now I’m really off to play with some makeup…
Until tomorrow, Beauties!
