Tend Skin Liquid by The Tend Skin Company

As someone who is super-prone to razor bumps and ingrown hairs, trying Tend Skin Liquid seemed like a good idea.

This product combats razor bumps and ingrown hairs by drying them out and reducing inflammation. It can be used by men and women anywhere hair is routinely removed.

Aspirin is one of Tend Skin’s anti-inflammatory ingredients, so if you have an aspirin allergy, stay away from this stuff!

I wanted to try it mainly for my chin area, where frequent plucking had left me with bumps and some scarring… I get the most unsightly ingrown hairs because my hair is so darn curly! I used this product in my pre-Vaniqa (see my review here) days and was kind of disappointed with the results.

Applying Tend Skin Liquid with a cotton ball like the directions say to, left my entire chin area dried, flaky and peeling even after using facial moisturizer. No fun!

My nose does not like Tend Skin! This product has a really strong rubbing alcohol smell, as its main ingredient is – you guessed it — isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol.

Tend Skin is not cheap either at 20 bucks for 4 oz.

Honestly, you may be better off using a gentle astringent from the drugstore (like Sea Breeze) instead of this stuff.

Application Tip – This product is best applied as a spot treatment with a cotton swab. When I recently sprouted a bump on my chin, I applied Tend Skin with a swab and was pretty pleased with how the bump shrank and eventually disappeared.

I’ve always wondered if I should buy Tend Skin for pre-bikini line waxes…and now I know not to. Thank1

    U.O.,

Again, I sympathize. Yeah, I’ve tried this one too and was indifferent to the results. Same deal w/ the SkinTight products (also quite expensive). Until I find a dermatological solution that’s more reliable, I still mess with the good ol’ cheap Bump Stopper 2 creme. Organic Root Stimulator also now makes a Tea Tree Lotion for razor bumps, but I’m not convinced it completely works. Although it ought to…medicine-y as it smells… >:)

    hey there…

never tried Bump Stopper, although I’ve seen it in drugstores time and time again

maybe i will give it a shot!

for now, i just take a cotton swab dipped in Sea Breeze and dab it on my bumps as they arise. that helps dry them out some, but it’s so darn tedious!
