This eye makeup remover is about as mild as they come, which I found to be a good and, potentially, bad thing. “As gentle to they eyes as tears” is how it’s described on Clinique.com…
A lot of eye makeup removers can feel greasy or oily (oils work best to remove waterproof cosmetics), but this is a simple, gentle cream. The consistency is very light and it is a semi-opaque white in color. I used to swear by this eye makeup remover, back when I would only wear a little mascara and/or eyeshadow. This product is great for those who wear minimal eye makeup or have very sensitive skin.
Naturally Gentle Eye Makeup Remover is allergy tested and 100% fragrance-free like all Clinique products. All you need to do is massage a small amount over your eye area and swipe with a cotton pad and you’re good to go. If you wear heavier eye make up, this is probably not the best product for you.
Be careful not to rub the eye area too much when using this product! Because it’s such a light and gentle formula, you are better off using an oil-based remover for more intense makeup jobs. You can irritate and cause unecessary wear on your skin because you will continually have to reapply the remover in order to get all of your makeup off. The skin around your eyes is some of the thinnest and most delicate skin on your body, so be sure to treat it right!
Helpful Tip – I found this makeup remover to work best when used with my facewash. After my face is all lathered up, I’ll massage some of the remover over my eye area and then rinse everything off. That’s the best way I found to be gentle on my eye area, while still effectively removing my eye makeup. This works even when I have a lot of eye makeup on, which I often do.
